A special place of power

Monastery Inn

Maria Waldrast is more than just one of the most beautiful as well as oldest and highest pilgrimage sites in the Alps. Surrounded by mountain peaks, glaciers, lush meadows, and fragrant forests, Maria Waldrast is located at an elevation of 1,683 m at the crossover of the Wipptal into the Stubaital. With its unique location, this place of pilgrimage with restaurant is the ideal starting point for picturesque hikes, toboggan rides, cross-country tours, and all kinds of mountain adventures.

Let yourself be inspired by nature and enjoy the power and quiet that radiates from this place! Back then as well as today, the historic monastery inn accommodates pilgrims, hikers, adventurers, and travelers and offers mouth-watering creations from the monastery kitchen. With great passion, fresh products from our own farm are made into delicious specialties. In the cozy monastery inn with inviting sunny terrace, you can experience the tasty diversity of Tyrol and enjoy a culinary treat before continuing to the summit full of replenished energy.

Even the old Celts and pilgrims to Rome used the route via Maria Waldrast to drink the healing Waldrast water. After almost 100 years of traveling through limestone and prehistoric rock enriched with minerals, the energy-rich water bubbles up from the "Marienbrunnen' fountain in front of the pilgrimage church.

Whether you discover the spirituality that emanates from this gem in the splendor of the landscape, the freedom of the Alps, or the love and intercession of the saints - Maria Waldrast is undoubtedly a sanctuary in the mountains, a place of living water, and a special place of power on the edge of the forest, where your soul can find rest and peace.
